Take part in a true farm miracle, the birthing of a lamb. This two day retreat will reconnect you with nature and and unplug you from your fast paced life. All of your meals are catered by the farm’s organic restaurant. Hotel is separate from the package price. Discover the wonders of birth in a safe and cozy environment. This intimate experience is one that you will remember for a lifetime. Participate in lamb loving sessions, live birthing classes and everyday farm miracles.  The Birth a Lamb Workshop is just the unique get away for those who want to reconnect with the land.

Workshop Details

The Birth a Lamb Workshop is scheduled to begin April 1st at 4pm. Attendees will check in at the farm where they will be trained in checking sheep and the standard protocol for a sheep birth. Then they will adjourn to the Living Farm Cafe for dinner. There will be further orientation of what to do during lambing and preparation for the evening watch. All attendees will participate in the Lamb Loving sessions in the evening, this is a trademark for the farm. The Lamb Loving is our way to familiarize our new additions to our dairy sheep flock to human touch. We snuggle each lamb during this time. There will be the first birth check and potentially our first live birthing. Saturday will be full of farm tours, small chores and a look at what life with a dairy flock truly looks like. This will be punctuated by sheep births and meeting new babies. Another evening of Lamb Loving and Birthing Saturday night will then be followed by a farm brunch the next morning. The final goodbyes and naming of lambs will take place Sunday afternoon to close the Birth a Lamb Workshop. 

This experience is recommended for those present and aware above 15 years of age. We encourage you to bring your camera to enjoy the beautiful Mountain spring days.
