Can you imagine having a super productive garden that easily fits into your lifestyle. We both know that our first goal in the garden should be quality over quantity. However, once your garden is in harmony with nature and truly nutrient dense our production will already be so much more than we ever had before. With these further techniques you can grow a productive garden that is super nutrient dense; all that it takes is following the 12 techniques of a High Performance Garden

How to Grow a Productive Garden

The beginning to a productive garden is when you grow in harmony with nature. When you support your soil food web organically your plants can live up to their fullest genetic potential. A plant that is living up to it’s fullest genetic potential will produce more and be resistant to bugs and disease! Just like every characteristic of the high performance garden the true success begins with the soil.

In my high performance garden systems I insure a healthy soil food web that is mineral rich by creating my own soil mix that is free of weed seeds and inoculated with beneficial microbes with compost and organic fertilizers. When my plants are working in harmony with the soil food web they have the nutrients they need to grow and produce to their full genetic potential. And you can taste that difference when you eat from the garden!

To grow a productive garden you will also need to protect your plants from the elements. When you can save your plants from a frost and even extend your growing season you will enjoy a huge harvest. Another benefit of extending your growing season is that your plants get all of the nutrients they need. To know how to best protect your garden you will need to have an understanding of your growing season. A quick way to understand your growing season is to find out your Plant Hardiness Zone. Once you know this you can understand your frost dates and create infrastructure for growing your crops in the cold.

You can be a productive gardener with a High Performance Garden System. In the first season of one of my high performance garden systems, the Abundance Garden, in just 128 square feet I produced 700 pounds of food. This garden is completely organic and never had a non organic chemical fertilizer. This large yield comes from effectively using all of the space available in a system that is completely organic. In a traditional garden the average amount produce per square foot is just 1/2 pound. In my high performance gardens I average 5 pounds per square foot.
