Growing in zones 5-6 through frosts is doable, with the right skills and tools. It all depends upon the tools you have available to you and the varieties you plant. I have some lettuce varieties I prefer to use when the temperatures drop dramatically. Once you change the varieties and tools you use you can extend your growing season exponentially!
