So many people have asked me about which seed varieties are best for their garden and safe for their family.  Seeds are wonderful packets of living history that with the right care and understanding can yield so much! Now that you have done a seed germination test it’s time to understand seeds. Let’s take an in depth look at the five main seed types that we can choose from and the best of the seed varieties for a high performance garden. The main five seed varieties you will come across while you are planning your garden are: open pollinated, non hybrid, heirloom, hybrid and GMO.

Which Seed Varieties are Best for You?

Heirloom seeds are great for gardeners that are flexible on the amount of produce they receive from their garden; gardeners who have low disease incidences and who love to come full circle with their food by saving their seeds and growing another crop.

Hybrid seeds are the best choice for beginning gardeners. They ensure a high and consistent yield in your high performance garden and are increasingly disease resistant. These seeds are not genetically modified they are cross pollinated. Not only are these seeds in harmony with nature they also help you to achieve higher yields and have less incidences with disease. I frequently use hybrids on my farm to ensure high production rates.
